Dress Your Home works out of a studio in Colleyville, just south of Southlake. Veronica Eckhardt founded Dress Your Home in 1993 and built her practice in Northern California. She is now in her sixth year designing in the Southlake area.

A recent Southlake project started with a single room in a family's new home and grew from there. It is a good picture of how she works: one space at a time when that suits the client, each designed around something the family wants to do in it, and each followed through to the final styling.

For this family, Veronica designed a home office that also works as a memory room, with the family's keepsakes gathered in one place and separated by year, all of it on view at any time. In more than 30 years of practice, it was the first room of its kind she had designed. The client's review calls it "my favorite room in the house."

A Southlake bath and bedroom, before and after.

In the bathroom, gray tile and glass block gave way to cream stone, a frameless glass shower and brass fixtures, with a clawfoot tub still at the center of the room. In the bedroom, a pine sleigh bed made way for a green velvet headboard and layered florals. Tap any photo to see it larger.
